Michael Collins前传，百年血泪动荡的起始，串起The Troubles和这几年的狂热青年组织。从目击者口述、历史人物书信到专家的分析，爱尔兰人的语言表达直率又接地气，特别有感染力。导演原来有Pat Collins。
非常用心的视听设计，行文也很有章法，也有不少珍贵的资料，但一定要明白有些资料也许并非来自旁白描述的事件而是挪用（事件越specific约不容易找到真正的一手资料）；起码要二刷才能搞清楚人名和事件。美中不足是配乐大部分都不好。

特效质量达不到应有的水准，关键场景的视觉效果让人出戏。
1916: The Irish Rebellion的配乐与剧情配合得天衣无缝，恰到好处地烘托了氛围，主题曲也非常好听。
